The Schweinfurt Triennale for Contemporary Art in Franconia will take place for the first time in the new Art Hall in 2009. The focal point of this project, which takes place at intervals of three years, is a wide-ranging exhibition with catalogue. An independent jury decides on the participation of the approx. 25 artists and on the awarding of prizes.

The Schweinfurt Triennale is an innovative and, in a wide area, unique presentation of art from the region in the interplay of supra-regional movements in art. It presents works that are no more than three years old. The first prize is an individual exhibition with catalogue in Schweinfurt Art Hall within the period until the next Triennale (2012). Artists from the region of Franconia, that is, from the three Franconian administrative districts of Upper, Middle and Lower Franconia, were able to take part.

FOKUS FRANKEN, the Schweinfurt triennial for contemporary art open its doors at Thursday, Nov. 12th. 2009, 19:00h.

At the last day of the exhibition next Feb. 14th 2010 it wiil be made public the winners of the 1st and 2nd Jury Prizes and the winner of the Public Prize as well.
